Multi-Frame Super-Resolution Tool

The goal of the project was the development of a „simple“ multiframe super-resolution tool, where a low-resolution image sequence (LR stack) serves as a basis to compute a higher-resolution image (HR frame). The corresponding image registration (BR) shall take into account translation, rotation as well as zoom.

The tool was implemented in Matlab and received a simple graphical user interface (GUI) for better usability. In addition, a suitable selection of test sequences was found by research, which were extended by own created sequences.

With the help of the test sequences the functionality of BR and calculation of Super-Resolution (SR) were demonstrated. Possible use cases could be e.g. low-resolution sequences of faces or writing, which can be made more recognisable by a calculation with the tool.
